Thema Selection Visionary avant-garde fashion

Fashion that is eye-catching, wearable and trendy at the same time - fortunately, there is an address in the old town on Spiegelgasse that has been offering unique designer pieces for decades: The boutique Thema Selection.

The founder of the boutique Thema Selection, Sissi Zöbeli, and the designer Sonnhild Kestler show their own creations, as well as designs by younger Swiss designers. Selected accessories, such as foulards, bags, cushions, and stools, made of woven jacquard, can be found here.

Dresses, blouses and jupes, jackets and trousers are presented in a classic style but with memorable and idiosyncratic chic wearability. They are showcased in the rooms of a former butcher's shop with distinctive ceiling paintings and in shop windows framed by a colourful gold entrance front with chiselled patterns. An ambience that immediately arouses curiosity and invites you to explore the colourful, cheerful interior of the shop.

In any case, the Selection theme features style-conscious clothing away from the mainstream, with high-quality fabrics and timeless design playing the central role. Most of the beautiful fabrics come from Italy or Scotland, from selected family businesses.

There are only two collections per year, one in spring and summer and one for autumn/winter, with a maximum of 12 to 15 pieces, but unique in shape, cut and material. And thus the absolute opposite of short-lived fast fashion and thus absolutely contemporary again.

A book about the label Thema Selection also addresses how political fashion was and is. Female Chic' explains the history of this Zurich fashion brand, which paved the way for an exceptionally concise style.
