The Artisan Neighbourhood restaurant meets urban garden

Lush greenery inside and out: the garden sets the tone at the neighbourhood restaurant The Artisan in Wipkingen and ensures that you love to linger here. An excellent place to spend a few relaxing hours with family or friends in an informal atmosphere - especially because of the organic and sustainable feel-good cuisine and the great drinks.

All year round, lush hanging plants and the view of the communal city garden with summer terrace create a relaxed atmosphere. But that's not all: the kitchen team uses locally sourced fruit and vegetables in some of its lovingly prepared, honest dishes with a unique twist.

Creations such as char and herb garden rolls with pink radicchio or quark and spinach gnocchi with bachtel pearl and black salsify delight body and soul. Another highlight on the menu are the burgers served with hand-cut fries, either as a vegetarian option or with organic meat.

Smaller snacks, such as root vegetable crisps, also taste great with a fine cocktail or a good glass of lively wine. The Artisan team places a particular focus on natural wines.

The extensive weekend brunch is also highly popular and, accordingly, well attended. It's hard to choose between delicious brunch creations such as brioche truffle French toast with organic hay flower herb ham, brie, fried egg and black truffle or Chriesi Royale, a croissant roll with vanilla cream, preserved cherry compote, crunchy caramelised hazelnuts and sour cream ice cream.

Incidentally, the neighbourhood restaurant is very concerned with sustainability and therefore processes surplus food on-site in Zurich's first composting machine. This means that instead of food waste, a nutritious compost is created within 24 hours for the vegetable producers and neighbours in the community garden.

And cooperation is also emphasised in other ways. This is noticeable in the friendly, young team, who make you feel at home. A real asset for Wipkingen!
