Rooftop Zurich's heaven so close

When the sky slowly turns a soft pink, and the Alps slip into a pink dress on the horizon, the evening slowly begins in Zurich. This always captivating spectacle is perhaps best watched in Zurich over drinks on the roof terrace of the Rooftop Bar.

An elevator takes you up to the 6th floor of the Modissa fashion house on the roof, from where you can enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view over Bahnhofstrasse. At marble bistro tables, you can enjoy not only the fantastic view but also delicious Asian and globally inspired fusion dishes and wonderful cocktails with that particular kick. 

The mixologists at the Rooftop Bar refine the classic Espresso Martini with amaretto, cold-brew coffee foam, raspberry, and shiso. The Eve's Desire with vodka, lime, elderberry, white peach, and manzanita, which glows like amber in the evening sun, is particularly popular. Heino with green apple, yuzu, lemon, champagne, and soda provides an exciting sparkle. Incidentally, excellent coffee specialties and a tasty brunch à discretion are also served on Sundays.

To accompany exciting drinks, you can snack on creamy hummus with homemade naan bread or crispy sushi rolls with salmon. And if you're a little hungrier, try the bao buns with spicy Swiss pulled beef, spare ribs with Asian-inspired BBQ sauce or hearty pad Thai. The different stuffed dumpling variations are also delicious. The varied menu also offers artichoke ravioli, gnocchi and bowls.

The service is informal, but it's still chic up here, and the crowd is worthy of a lively metropolis. And when the radiant pink of the sky turns a deep blue and the city lights begin to twinkle below, the time-out above the rooftops is perfect.
