Restaurant Commercio The nicest cinema foyer in Zurich

Good restaurants that serve hot meals until 11pm are few and far between in Zurich. And if I impart that this restaurant is also a cinema foyer, then those in the know can only guess the place which I am referring to: The Commercio!

The place is legendary. Guaranteed because of the extended opening times, where people from all walks of life can be found coming and going throughout the nice, long days. Besides filmgoers, students, late-risers, musicians, and actors come here as well as journalists, businessmen, and travelers. Which also makes the place so appealing.

Another reason to come is clearly for the Rigatoni alla vodka, a dish I’ve been trying to cook with average success for many years. In addition, the menu offers numerous other classic pasta dishes. The majority prepared daily fresh in their production kitchen at the restaurant Commihalle.

What I learned for the first time during my visit two weeks ago: The home-made pasta and typical Italian desserts can also be obtained directly from the production kitchen. Simply call a day ahead and pre-order in advance. Buon appetito!
