.How to get there
The tasteful wood panelling and ornate frosted glass windows from the beginning of the 20th century, white tablecloths and enchanting Älplerchüsseli on the chairs make the Alpenrose restaurant in the lively Kreis 5 district a real feast for the eyes. The palate is spoilt here in Zurich city centre in the traditional way.
The focus of this traditional restaurant is on Swiss cuisine. Guests particularly love Rösli's veal meatloaf with mushroom cream sauce and homemade spaetzli - a delicious and sensational classic. House specialities such as Suure Mocke beef or Bachser trout cooked whole are also highly delicious.
Vegetarians, too, get their money's worth thanks to the creative menu full of fresh products from regional Swiss agriculture. Of course, homemade vermicelli with cherries and meringue is also a must for dessert. The attentive and cordial service also serves a wide selection of Swiss wines.
Speaking of service, we particularly like the fact that the Alpenrose is close to the Arbeitskette Foundation and is committed to the social and professional integration of apprentices and employees with mental health problems. But this spot is also simply stylish and a satisfactory place to be.
