.How to get there
Near the Stauffacher, a Chinese restaurant surprises with exceptional cuisine. It starts with a menu consisting of only 20 dishes, which makes it difficult to decide as the starters and main courses sound so delicious.
Owners Jasmin Liu and James Cheng and their chef hail from Shanghai, a city known for its complex, aromatic cuisine.
Whether it's gently steamed okra pods and pak choi (9.80 CHF) as a starter or a 'Mouth Watering Chicken' (16.90 CHF), which combines steamed spare ribs and chicken with chilli sauce and is accompanied by tofu, okras and mu-err mushrooms, the combination is a real treat.
This can be followed by a ribeye steak in black pepper sauce with garlic (38.80 CHF) for the main course or a 'Shanghai Classic Pork Belly' (36 CHF). In any case, Chinese cuisine shows its best side here: full-bodied and refined spices, authentic and excellently prepared.
Of course, the multi-faceted Szechuan pepper with its tingling spiciness is put to good use, especially in the 'Swiss Ribeye Sichuan Soup' (37.80 CHF), in which thinly sliced, incredibly tender entrecôte offers a real umami experience.
The Cantonese-style duck is also available whole, halved or quartered. A well-selected offer for every appetite but one that also leaves room for other delicacies on the menu.
By the way, 'Lé' means joy, cheerfulness and happiness in Chinese. And these definitely come up at Lé Cuisine, with all these excellent dishes.
