.How to get there
The popular brasserie in Zurich's Wiedikon district comes across as simply classic, with deep greens and wine reds, the colours applied so boldly that they give the space its own character. The soft patina creates a cosy atmosphere, giving the French-inspired restaurant a special touch.
The classic dish here is the 'Entrecôte Café de Paris', which is simply outstanding. But the carbonnade with olives, pearl onions and peperoncini in five different sauces also has no need to hide and is served in a charcoal grill on the table "as long as the door burns!
At La Côte, the ingredients are fresh from the market and, of course, French wines accompany the delicious dishes and round everything off perfectly. At lunchtime, there are daily changing and freshly prepared menus, very traditional, with an amuse-bouche, a starter and a main course.
Whether a fine lobster soup, whose French name 'Bisque d'Hommard' already seduces with its creamy aroma, or the 'Escargots Vigneron' and the 'Filet de Boeuf au Poivre vert', this brasserie spoils you with the usual classic dishes.
However, you should still leave enough room for the desserts. It would be a shame not to enjoy the delicious profiteroles or the incomparable 'Tira mi su'. The sorbet with champagne or vodka and the apple sorbet with calvados are also good choices. The cream ice cream with whisky, a very successful combination, also guarantees a pleasant end.
