Hotel Lamée THE ROOF The Most Breathtaking View on Steffl

I'm a fan of rooftop terraces with a great view. After an extensive Vienna shopping day, I was ready to celebrate my newest acquisitions and was on the lookout for the right setting. I figured, the white awnings on the roof of Hotel Lamee were a sign.

Past the reception, you get to the elevator that'll take you and your tired legs up to the roof. Once outside, a panoramic view on Stephansdom, or lovingly nicknamed Steffl by locals, is revealed. At the horizon, the forests of the "Wiener Wald" are being dipped into mystic light by the sun going down.

White dominates: white lounge chairs and sofas and if you're lucky enough, you'll score an all-white deckchair. On the tables you'll mostly find Aperol Spritz, Hugo or, as expected from a winegrower's country, good wines. The matching background music makes this sundowner one of the best kind.

During the colder season, the bar serves homemade hot punch, a few snacks and along, a heartwarming view of the festive lights in the city and our Steffl.
