Suupinga not only stands for the first documented mention of the historic Munich district of Schwabing but also for refined coffee enjoyment. All four locations of the modern speciality coffee chain also offer tasty, homemade cinnamon buns.

Scandinavian Chic, which is still in vogue, stands for reduction to the essentials. In the living area, this means clean accessories and muted tones, and in the culinary area, high-quality products without much fuss.

The three Munich friends, Peter Baumann, Lucas Wiltfang and Emanuel Etzersdorfer, specialise in minimalism in coffee culture. Their café chain Suuapinga, headquartered on Herzogstraße in Schwabing, stands for reduced ambience and top-quality beans.

The star product for the Suuapinga Speciality Coffee, for example, comes from lightly roasted Arabica beans from the Munich roasting company JB-Kaffee. They give the hot drink a fruity-aromatic note and are also produced fairly.

Whether cappuccino, espresso, Americano, filter coffee or flat white: the many varieties of coffee beans are the focus of every Suuapinga branch. Absolute recommendation in summer: the Cold Brew on Ice with orange zest.

"We want to bring coffee lovers closer to the complexity of coffee. In addition, Suuapinga is meant to bring people together, just like a neighbourhood café," explains co-owner Lucas Wiltfang. And similar to an Italian espresso bar, the menu in every Suuapinga branch is significantly reduced. There are only homemade cinnamon and cardamom buns - all vegan.

In fact, the café is named after the first historical reference to today's Schwabing - Suupinga means settlement of the Swabians. Peter Baumann, Lucas Wiltfang and Emanuel Etzersdorfer opened the first branch on just 16 square metres in Herzogstraße in the summer of 2021. There are now three more cafés in Neuhausen, at Münchner Freiheit and in Haidhausen.

Guests at Suuapinga can not only enjoy exceptional coffee but also learn how to prepare it themselves. Barista courses are offered on weekends so that you can create the perfect espresso or filter coffee at home. Even latte art courses are on the programme. Good coffee is an art in itself.
