.How to get there
Testing a new hairstyle is risky business. Women know that, and so do men- depending on their style. As a woman with short hair I know it all too well. With my hair length you find yourself leaving the salon with a hedgehog style or kindergarten boy's cut before you can say knife. Haunted by such traumatic experiences, I am incredibly cautious about trying out a new address. However, I recently dared experiment again and left my head in the hands of the Puro stylists in München.
Naturally not without reassuring myself beforehand. I was convinced of the München stylists' abilities a few weeks ago at a fashion event at Palais Beauté and stepping into the airy salon at the Isartor my last remaining doubts vanish. My first impression: the eight-headed stylist team and Puro’s founders Patrice Hess and Maximilian Ufertinger are extremely charismatic and know what's what. For proof of that you need not look further than the flawlessly styled looks on their own heads. Always a good sign!
As I take my place on a stool in a room flooded with light on the salon's first floor- which is easily the most comfortable stool I've sat on at a salon in a long time- the good omens continue: hair expert Tabea doesn't need long explanations or an endless stream of photos to understand what I’m looking for. Her additional suggestions are so compelling, I'm completely at ease leaving my fate up to her.
Amongst other things, the soothing woody aromas of the Aveda products used at Puro add to my tranquility. Even the tones and colours made by the American natural cosmetics brand don't leave a whiff of chemicals. On top of everything else, the fact that I am looked after from start to end is a positive sign.
Consultation, wash, toning, cut, and style — everything follows one-stop, which ensures that the appointment runs without stress or hectic. After an hour of comfortable procedures, one glance in the mirror confirms that my intuition was right.
My reflection is neither that of a hedgehog nor a kindergarten boy, but rather a woman with perfectly cut short hair, exactly as I pictured it. The experiment was a success and I'll be back — guaranteed!
