.How to get there
Those who appreciate timeless design and want to stay in comfort will be completely satisfied at the Moma1890 Boutique Hotel. It is wonderfully centrally located at Munich's Ostbahnhof railway station in the charming Haidhausen district, which is considered the city's Little Paris.
The 51 attractive rooms are individually designed by architect Kurt Seidel, father of the two owner brothers Moritz and Maximilian. Beautifully shaped designer furniture by Vitra, Le Corbusier, Hansen and Eames, for example, is part of the furnishings, as are lights by Occhio, Flos, Artemide and Ingo Maurer. High-quality care products from the French brand L'Occitane await the guests in the bathrooms.
From elegant beige to fresh aquamarine to bright ochre: the colour palette in the 51 rooms was also selected with great attention to detail.
In addition to its exclusive furnishings, the Moma1890 impresses with its central location - whether for sightseeing or meetings in Munich. Just a quick trip to the city centre? Voilà: It's just three minutes to Marienplatz by S-Bahn! And it takes no more than half an hour to get to the airport.
In 2023, the Moma1890 won the TripAdvisor "Best of the Best 2023 Award" and thus belongs to the best one per cent of the top hotels worldwide. One of the reasons for the award is probably the extensive breakfast buffet, which is served daily until 10.30 a.m. and consists of fresh, regional specialities.
The Moma Lounge and Honor Bar in the heart of the hotel building are ideal for relaxing after a day in the city. In cosy seating areas, you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the afternoon or a glass of wine in the evening.
Especially practical: the 24-hour WhatsApp service. Would you like to make a restaurant reservation, attend a particular theatre performance or know where to find the best white sausages in Munich? The reception team of the Moma1890 Boutique Hotel is available around the clock. "Our claim is to be a home in Munich for guests from all over the world," explains owner Maximilian Seidel.
Incidentally, 1890 refers to the year of construction of the listed building on Munich's Orleansplatz. With its design treasures and personal service, the family-run boutique hotel is a recommendation for travellers who value aesthetics and cordiality.
