Mia Trattoria e Bar New Italian restaurant with dream interior

Munich has a varied selection of Italian restaurants. Whether it's the casually charming corner restaurant, the young restaurant with newly interpreted national cuisine or the hip gastronomy with an extravagant pizza concept.

Now another Italian restaurant has opened in Munich between Stachus and Theresienwiese, Mia Trattoria e Bar, in autumn 2022. An establishment on two floors - restaurant and cocktail bar - paired with timelessly chic design and a mix of traditional and modern cuisine.

The menu includes creative antipasti such as grilled scallops with lentil salad, a panna cotta salad with pistachios, and Italian classics such as homemade pasta and pizza fresh from the Neapolitan oven. Our favourite: the Mia Pizza with potato carpaccio and truffle and the Spaghetti Vongole. The dessert selection is somewhat modest, with only two Dolci (panna cotta and tiramisu). But according to the Mia owners, the menu will grow.

What is already clear, however, is that the highlight of the house is the contemporary, elegant interior design by the Zurich architecture firm Selektiv Studi. High ceilings, gold elements, velvet sofas, brass accents and the wonderfully spacious bar counter convey a sophisticated Gatsby flair.

The concept is to dine extensively and well on the ground floor with its covered XXL terrace, while upstairs, you can enjoy snacks and drinks in typical Apertivo style. All in the spirit of a modern Italian affair, as the restaurant's motto reads - alluding to the intimate connection between Munich and Italy.
