CASA MAÑANA
Nymphenburger Straße 168
80634 Munich-Neuhausen
.How to get there
Mexican vibes in Munich. The new Casa Mañana restaurant on Rotkreuzplatz serves homemade tacos and delicious margaritas. Combined with the casually chic boho interior, you feel like you're on the beach in Tulum.
Described as the "northernmost city in Italy", Munich has no shortage of Mediterranean cuisine or dolce vita flair. How refreshing that, since autumn 2023, Casa Mañana now also has a location for South American specialities.
In addition to salads and bowls, the menu includes six modern interpretations of tacos - from pulled pork, coconut shrimp and beef to crispy chicken and two vegan options with oyster mushrooms and jackfruit. "We had a machine specially imported from Mexico for our tacos, which makes the gluten-free cornflour dough as thin and beautifully round as it should be," reports Casa Mañana co-owner Stefan Hrubesch.
Tortilla chips with various toppings and dips are also available as starters. Our favourites: Salsa Bombastica and Chilli Mayo. For dessert, there is a choice of crunchy churros - a typical Spanish sweet made from choux pastry and incredibly delicious! Regarding drinks, Casa Mañana serves half a dozen margarita variations in addition to cocktails, wine and beer.
The fact that the restaurant really does make you feel a bit like you're on the beach in Tulum is down to the ambience as well as the menu. Large craft lamps hang from the ceiling, the armchairs are upholstered in ethnic fabrics, and vases of dried flowers and pampas grass are on the tables.
Mexico instead of Italy: Casa Mañana stands for excellent South American street food cuisine and promises a nice change from pasta and pizza.
