Blitz The beer garden of the vegetarian-vegan restaurant is open

The Mexican cuisine at the hip Blitz Restaurant on Museum Island conjures up holiday feelings all year round. In summer, however, when Sandra Forster's vegetarian-vegan restaurant also opens its outdoor terrace, the mini trip to South America feels even more intense.

The beautiful colourful fairy lights and the greenery are a delight to the eye, while the sound of the Isar flowing by gives a maritime flair, and deckchairs provide a relaxed vibe. In short: the Blitz beer garden is a real insider tip in terms of cosiness and holidays in your own city during the warm months of the year.

Another notable feature is that the young service staff serve Mexican specialities instead of classic beer garden delicacies like obadza, pretzels and Steckerlfisch. These are interpreted in a modern way and are meatless.

From tacos with marinated hibiscus blossoms to deep-fried manchego yuca balls and ceviche made from banana blossoms: the starters for sharing are independently as exotic as they are tasty and are attractively presented in colourful dishes.

For the main courses, you can choose between juicy burgers with Beyond Meat meat, fine quesadillas (our favourite filling: paprika salsa with courgette and aubergine) and fajitas, which are for two people.

The white passion fruit chocolate mousse with spicy pineapple and mango sorbet is a must-try as a sweet finale. This sophisticated combination tastes wonderfully fresh and transports you to the white beaches of Mexico in no time.

To match the exotic food, the Blitz beer garden's menu includes homemade lemonades, beers and wines, as well as creative summer cocktails such as the Mezcal Old Fashioned and various daiquiri versions - ay caramba!
