.How to get there
Fancy a short culinary trip to France in under 30 minutes? This has been possible at Le Plat du Jour in the heart of the Hanseatic city since 1993. The closely spaced tables and large wall mirrors transport you directly to a cosy, typically French brasserie.
The menu presents itself accordingly: simple and uncomplicated, but at the same time cleverly prepared essential products fresh from the market on the white-clothed tables. Just as you would expect in a traditional brasserie. French wines are served - bien sûr.
The best way to start your short trip to France is with a glass of sparkling champagne, which, of course, goes perfectly with a few fresh Gillardeaux oysters. Immediately afterwards, you can enjoy a delicious fish soup, classically served with rouille and garlic bread. Or are you more in the mood for a few vineyard snails with pertersilia garlic sauce?
Le Plat du Jour also serves French classics for the main course, making every evening a delicious one: tasty rabbit leg with Dijon mustard sauce or fine steak frites. And what would a trip to France be without a wonderful drop of wine like a deep red Bordeaux in the glass?
The crowning glory of this fine meal is a crispy, creamy crème brûlée or exquisite profiteroles with chocolate and almonds. However, our neighbours prefer to close their stomachs with a small selection of fromage. In France, they know how to enjoy life. Just like in the Plan du Jour.
