.How to get there
Happenpappen is not only a word that can be pronounced wonderfully hamburgerish, it is also the name of one of the cosiest vegan restaurants in the Hanseatic city. After being founded by Roman Witt in 2013, Happenpappen moved to St. Pauli in 2017 with its new owner Catharina Bernhardt.
In a good mood and with great joy in creating delicious vegan dishes, Cathy presents her Happenpappen. The small restaurant offers two large tables, space for 20 guests, an open kitchen and fresh, seasonal, 100 per cent vegan dishes prepared in front of the guests daily. Cathy does not want to proselytise. Instead, everyone is invited to discover the possibilities of vegan cuisine for themselves.
During the week, a changing lunch menu is served here from noon to 4:00 pm. Then, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, it's Cake O'Clock, and the kitchen stays cold that long before moving on to dinner. But the vegan cake creations are also worth a visit.
At the weekend, the motto is Breakfast All Day. This concept is becoming increasingly popular these days and is particularly convincing in the vegan area - without sausage and cheese - due to its versatility and freshness.
The interior of Happenpappen is charming and cosy, and the dishes are presented handwritten on a plain paper roll. Herbs and spice jars pile up in the modern kitchen, and there is always something fragrant cooking in the oven that makes your mouth water. The service perfectly matches the feeling of being invited to friends' houses.
The dishes at Happenpappen are, of course, also available to go. And the best thing is that you can also order the delicious cakes and tarts to delight your table at home. We love to come back, no matter what time of day it is and enjoy the animal product-free food and relaxed atmosphere.
