Codos Simply good coffee

Since the beginning of July 2022, you can taste the Codos coffee philosophy at Mühlenkamp in Winterhude. The philosophy is simple and complex: to serve every guest the perfect cup of coffee. The basis for this ambitious project is the in-house roastery in Hamburg Ottensen and, of course, the raw material, which the Codos team obtains from small coffee farmers whose growing regions are Central and South America.

On the company's website, interested fragrant lovers can get a deeper insight into the origin of the coffee beans. Then, you can taste the love for the natural product in a cup of Codos coffee. Codos coffees are offered in different roasting degrees and flavours.

Cakes and other baked goods are provided for physical well-being on a more substantial level. These come from their own bakery, Black Apron, and taste as good and fresh as they look. We had the pleasure of enjoying the tender and cool-melting New York Cheesecake. The graham crackers are homemade to achieve their crunchy base and the sour cream for its creamy mixture. My companion delighted her palate with a tart with peanut filling and a coating of dark chocolate. Yummy!

The clear, straightforward concept of the Codos makers is matched by the cafés' furnishings. In Winterhude, exposed concrete meets a light, polished floor, filigree, functional furniture and matt black details. The shop front is glazed throughout and offers a view of the terrace and the hustle and bustle of Mühlenkamp. The light and airy space invites you to linger. In the back of the shop is lounge furniture where you can make yourself comfortable.

The history of Codos began in 2014 in Hamburg with a small brew bar in Schanze, which had not existed for a few months. In addition to the aforementioned roastery, however, there are now 3 more cafés in Hamburg. And fortunately, now also in Winterhude. We are curious to see how and where the story of Codos will develop further. Still, for the moment, we can say that anyone who enjoys homemade delicacies and delicious cafés should stop here without any ifs or buts.
