Alpenkantine Dumpling Heaven in Eimsbüttel

“Do well to your body, so that your soul may pleasure in living therein.” This quote, written on a chalkboard in large letters, greets the guests at Alpenkantine. And true to their motto, not only is the soul cared for here, but the eyes as well.

The room, flooded with light through the large window bank, is done up in modern Alpine styles with a felicitous mix of concrete, wood, and blue and white tiling. Colourfully put together chairs line three long tables, while a coo-coo clock adorns the raw concrete wall.

You can order cantina-style at the large counter- if you can make a decision given all of the delicacies, that is. Flaky puff pastry tarts with goats cheese, quiche, heavenly salads… Not to mention the dumplings! Two new variations a day, served with melted butter and parmesan with fresh salad.

Dishes from the mountains such as Swabian pockets, cheese spaetzle, and schnitzel are available daily. Even the cake selection is sensational. Yum! It’s clearly not difficult to do well by your body at Alpenkantine!
