Kødbyens Fiskebar
Flæsketorvet 100
1711 Copenhagen-Vesterbro
.How to get there
The New York MEPA - meatpacking district - is where it happens. Guess what – same thing in Copenhagen at Kødbyen. The old meatpacking district of Copenhagen used to be an odd place and not that attractive but a few years ago - some smart people started to open fancy restaurants here.
If you a not a typically fish-fan you may not prefer to visit Fiskebaren but this place is not just fish’n’chips it’s so much more. The menu has everything from oysters to fisn’n’chips to more delicate servings. I have always been a huge fan of fish so I love this vivid place in the meatpacking district. There is so much charm to the old industrial area – the meat is actually still prepared in the old buildings in the area but the fish is freshly caught and delivered to the restaurant from shores nearby.
Kødbyen is a great neighborhood if you want to explore the upcoming parts of Copenhagen. The restaurants are always packed here, with no exception of Fiskebaren. The restaurant has been a huge success since it opened back in 2009 and I love to go there and enjoy a glass of white wine and eat a well-prepared fresh caught fish.
