What things make your heart skip a beat? For us, it's iridescent colours and the delicate shimmer of glittering tinsel threads, like the ones that turn our heads at Yes Studio in North Neukölln. Nadia Kunkel brings enchanting knick-knacks, little specialities and cool brands together in her delightful concept store, eliciting a resounding yes from our hearts.
If you sense chaos, you can rest assured that Yes Studio is a carefully curated concept store. The concept? These are things that Nadia's own heart beats for. After all, the opening last year was a long-awaited affair of the heart after Nadia was no longer happy in her previous career. Good for us because she undoubtedly has an eye for the extraordinary and excellent taste.
The result is a stylish mix of classic modernity and a touch of extravagance. The Neukölln resident, who lives in the neighbourhood herself, focuses on German designers, if only for sustainability reasons. But also because there are many people here who do wonderful things. "I just love it when people put so much love into their craft."
However, she is not overly dogmatic in her approach. And so in addition to Berlin cosmetics and lifestyle brands such as Swype, Kruut Organics and clothing from Berlin brands Starstyling and Remesalt, Yes Studio also stocks real it-pieces, such as the breathtakingly beautiful tableware from her current favourite brand Gunia from Ukraine, which recently caused quite a stir internationally and which Yes Studio is currently stocking exclusively in Berlin.
We often come across specialities in the shop that not everyone knows about. Nadia finds many of them on Instagram, but young designers also regularly go to her directly. In addition to the enchanting glass jewellery, delicate glass bubbles and elegant carafes by Christian Metzner, she also exhibits adorable rings and bracelets made of acrylic by a young neighbour from Neukölln.
Or the fantastic glass vases by Czech label Qubus and purple-coloured vases from the 3D printer of Berlin label Radical Softness. The fluorescent tube art in the small transitional corridor of Julius Lehniger, who also lives around the corner, makes our eyes light up. We also love the unconventional and cool fragrances from 27/87, which will make anyone who, like Nadia, is passionate about fragrances and candles happy.
She has even teamed up with the Ultramonochrom label to create her own scented candles in enchanting, iridescent jars: Smells like Yes! In the long term, she wants to bring in more of her own creativity and co-create products in further collaborations. At Yes Studio, you don't search, you find. And you find what your heart has said "Yes!" to loud and clear.
Info: On 25 November, Yes Studio is hosting a pop-up with Berlin artist Studio Radical Softness. In addition to his futuristic vases from the 3D printer, he will be exhibiting his limited-edition collection for Croc Pins in collaboration with Ilona Hartmann. There will also be a special on each of the two open Advent weekends: pop-up with Gunia Project on 2/3 December and Cookies & Cremant to celebrate the first anniversary of Yes Studio on 16/17 December.
