The Panda Noodle
Lausitzer Platz 12
10997 Berlin-Kreuzberg
.How to get there
In the small store directly on Lausitzer Platz, colorful kitschy furnishings dominate the picture. You will notice that the colorful flashing neon lights and varied posters directly spread a good mood. Otherwise, the furniture is kept simple in white. After all, you don't need more than the simple stools for a quick lunch at The Panda Noodle.
Owner Deng Khamlao whips up a deliciously fluffy Thai omelet or her almost legendary chicken rice, which has a small following. The menu changes regularly depending on the mood of the Panda team, but popular Panda classics are always on the menu.
The focus at Panda Noodle is on Asian fusion cuisine, in which Deng Khamlao combines the tastes and flavors mainly from Thailand, China and Vietnam, with which she grew up. To go with it, the name gives it away, she serves delightful homemade noodles.
The vegetarian Szechuan Noodles are our personal favorite. Served with fresh crunchy vegetables, pickled pineapple and an exquisitely spiced Szechuan sesame sauce, they have everything you dream of in a delicious lunch: flavorful, rich, hearty, fresh. The Dan Dan Noodles Panda Style with ground beef are also ingenious and hot, hot, hot.
Chili, by the way: if you tend to complain about European-style spiciness in Berlin restaurants, The Panda Noodle is the place for you. But even if you're not so hard-boiled, talk to the friendly staff, and you'll be able to turn things around. However, it's worth it at the Panda Noodle to put up with the sweating. Just the thing for a gray and rainy October day.
