Sweet Sins Imaginative soft ice cream de luxe in Graefekiez

When it comes to soft ice cream, we get a little nostalgic and remember all too fondly our childhood, when the ice cream man would ring the bell and we would buy a big soft ice cream for a few pennies. Luckily, since April there has been Sweet Sins at Dieffenbachstraße 13 in Kreuzberg's Graefekiez, where we can fulfil this soft ice cream dream at any time.

Whether small, medium or large: every ice cream portion, solo or swirled, can be imaginatively and individually designed with a topping and sauce. And the selection of toppings really leaves no wish unfulfilled: From Oreo biscuits, koalas and M&M's to vegan gummy bears, Fruity Loops or brittle. Fortunately, there are only four flavours of soft ice cream, which makes our choice a little easier.

However, boredom doesn't set in here either, because the flavours change every three days. You can choose between two vegan varieties and two milk varieties, of course with organic milk from the region, the vegan varieties are based on oat, rice, coconut or soy milk.

All other ingredients are also predominantly natural, such as the colourings. The homemade pink waffles, for example, get their intense colour from the juice of beetroot and sour cherries. The flavours of the other varieties are also very child-friendly, as there are many schools and day-care centres in the area, so children are regular customers, so to speak.

The idea for soft ice cream came to owner Philipp Gervink during his travels in the USA, where soft ice cream is literally on everyone's lips. When a shop became available in the neighbourhood in the Graefekiez, the trained hotel manager did not hesitate for long and rented the premises, once a fish shop.

After six months of extensive renovation, Sweet Sins now shines fresh and modern in soft neon light, where you can feast even in bad weather. In front of Sweet Sins we take a seat on the pastel-coloured benches and enjoy our self-designed soft ice cream in the shade of the trees.
