.How to get there
One exquisite culinary treat follows the next in a mid-century style that is simple but certainly not unadorned. The product display in the Sawade flagship store on Berlin's Ku'Damm is really something to behold. The finest, meticulously handcrafted chocolates in every conceivable shape, color and flavor make it difficult to choose.
Geigelt, filled, with alcohol or without, fruit filling or finest Marc de Champagne, small nuts can be seen here and there, or iridescent mushrooms in tin foil. Since mid-August, the traditional Berlin company Sawade has been offering its precious chocolates, truffles and marzipan specialties for sale on the renowned Kurfürstendamm. The former premises of the salon Udo Walz is shared by Sawade with the royal porcelain manufacture - quality requirement connects.
Only the best ingredients and raw materials from fair and environmentally friendly sources are used in the processing by hand according to old recipes. The enchanting little boxes with Berlin motifs such as the TV Tower, the Berlin Bear or even the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church awaken the longing for the capital and are precisely selected greetings from Ku'Damm and Co for all those who still have a suitcase in Berlin.
A charming eye-catcher are not only the beautiful packages and the handsome confectionery. In the shop window, the 140-year history of Berlin's oldest chocolate manufacturer is told through an enchanting cardboard house and makes us yearn for its nostalgic design. We think of the exhilarating power of Sawade chocolate, which we can hardly get enough of, especially in view of dark autumn days.
