.How to get there
Where once Christian Lohse brought Michelin-starred dining to Fishers Fritz, the new casual-fine dining restaurant Charlotte & Fritz has opened following an expansive rebuild. With pale blue, elegantly-coloured panels and plenty of high-end upholstered armchairs and sofas, a lofty and casual new look revives the old rooms.
Head chef Jörg Lawerenz and his team are committed to regional cuisine with a whisper of international influence. Special emphasis is placed on the selection of high-grade meats. The ox chop for two, for example, is carved table-side, and served with sides and a sauce of choice.
Chicken breast from Brandenburg, fish, as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes, are also on the menu. And if you’re after something else: the kitchen is very flexible, waiting staff has let us know. Today, besides the sea bream, you can also order the John Dory as the fish of the day.
We’ll take it, we announce in unison. To accompany it we order a "must-have" white wine sauce, a Caesar salad and a creamy cucumber salad as "crunchy sides", and as for the "pretty" elements: leafy spinach with garlic and shallots, as well as shiitake mushrooms with roasted sesame and coriander.
Before this, we dig into the yellowfin mackerel ceviche, and Beelitz asparagus with tomatoes, tarragon and a scotch egg. For dessert, nut butter ice cream with shisho leaf and aromatic peaches, as well as a selection of homemade ice creams and sorbets. The perfect finale for a hot summer evening!
