.How to get there
The story of Kempinski goes back to 1862, and temporarily ended during the National Socialist era. After the war, the five-star hotel by the same name opened in one of Kempinski’s previous sites in 1952, which for two decades became the only luxury hotel in Berlin and the main meeting place for an international audience.
The Bristol Grill – previously Kempinski Grill – at Kurfürstendamm in Charlottenburg was known as the living room of Berlin’s high society. Until well into the 90s, the "Kempi Grill" was the city’s go-to restaurant. Everyone who was someone was a regular.
Guests eat from KPM dinnerware, which continues to be dressed in lace paper. The dishes, too, are reminiscences of the past: the excellent Balik salmon is served with a dollop of cocktail sauce as an amuse bouche, creating a private atmosphere in the restaurant.
The main course of lamb chops is something we’re very excited about: perfectly grilled and pink inside. With classic grilled sides. The dessert goes down a more exciting path, with a table-side preparation of Crêpes Suzette. A fiery spectacle that is celebrated just as much as Bristol Grill’s flambeed meat specials.
