It has always been a well-known fact in Berlin that if you want to enjoy fine food, go to "Die Sechste", the delicatessen department of KaDeWe. A particularly sparkling place for fine drink experiences has just opened on this magical floor, which is richly stocked with the finest gastronomic highlights: The new Moët & Chandon Bar Berlin.

The elegant bar has been shining in unique splendour since November and is operated by Moët & Chandon itself. After opening in the renowned Harrods in London, it is the second bar of the champagne house worldwide.

As we enter the bar, we first notice the elegantly curved counter centred around a tower of champagne and fine spirits. To the left and right of this are tables for two and groups in open alcoves. For groups who prefer an even more private setting, there is a deep red séparée at the back, surrounded by red curtains whose pleats are reminiscent of a pleated skirt.

After all, Moët & Chandon champagne deserves an appropriate setting. This was created by the internationally renowned design studio Yabu Pushelberg, a mixture of tradition and modernity inspired by the traditional craftsmanship of the champagne house. A pleasant, specially curated lounge playlist plays from the loudspeakers to match the ambience, which shines in golden tones and light-coloured wood.

The bar's concept is just as perfectionist as its design. It aims to be holistic, with a selection of fine snacks and a bar menu that leaves nothing to be desired alongside all kinds of in-house champagne - from selected rarities to exquisite cocktails. Significant here: all products are carefully chosen by Moët & Chandon.

In the red alcove, we savour a selection of dishes that are always recommended with the matching champagne. Of course, there are oysters and a selection of cheeses, but we opt for a few more unusual dishes. We start with the "Deconstructed Currywurst", a pleasing variation on the Berlin classic. We enjoy a Moët & Chandon Rosé Imperial with it.

The "Bouchon Précieux" is remarkable and yet simple. Small brioches in the shape of champagne corks are served with a Comté Hollandaise sauce, even with authentic branding - a savoury dipping pleasure. Four petits choux made from choux pastry filled with pineapple passion fruit and raspberry lychee cream round off the menu.

The Moët & Chandon Bar Berlin is well worth a visit for an afternoon glass of champagne or evening drinks, accompanied by some fine snacks. And if you have a very exclusive occasion to celebrate, you can take a look at the selection of vintage champagnes that form the centrepiece of the new Moët Bar in the display case behind the counter. Santé!
