Milchbar im Funkhaus
Nalepastraße 18
12459 Berlin-Rummelsburg
.How to get there
The Funkhaus was used until 1991 to broadcast the GDR radio. 30 years later, the complex located in the slowly awakening district of Rummelsburg is partially listed and shows off its GDR charm on frequent tours. The tours end at the Milchbar (Milk-bar), and that's lucky, because the restaurant is a true gem of GDR architecture.
With its authentic interior style, it aesthetically fits into the old Funkhaus (broadcasting centre). The place has been around since the 50s and used to serve the staff of the Funkhaus for relaxation. Today, the kitchen of the Milchbar in the Funkhaus surprises with a small menu whose dishes are all fresh and cooked with love.
In addition to classics such as Königsberger meatballs or Wiener schnitzel, more modern creations such as aubergine tempura complicate the selection. Coffee and cake are not only tempting after a tour of the Funkhaus. A visit is especially worthwhile in summer, if you can get a box seat directly at the Spree.
Tip: In our opinion, the Milchbar in the Funkhaus also serves one of the best Wiener schnitzels in Berlin.
