Markthalle Neun is actually the Land of Cockaigne. The only place where you'll find a Swabian baker next to Brandenburg's organic farmers, exquisite tea importeurs next to Berlin blood pudding companies.

The retailers' excitement for their own products is omnipresent and so convincing that every errand turns into a fulfilling adventure. Elaborate recipes and the use of only the best materials and ingredients basically guarantee a bliss of rare treats.

My personal favourites are the smoked fish goods at Glut & Späne, especially their fish rillette I am officially addicted to, Barbara's Kaffeetafel where you can get the best Swabian pockets far and wide, and the mouthwatering BBQ sandwiches at Big Stuff's.
