The golden stag gazes majestically from its column across the meadow to the Rathaus Schöneberg station. To its left is a colourful beer garden where you can sit and relax on homemade pallet furniture and ample planting. The Laax Café in Volkspark Schöneberg is a wonderfully relaxing place in good weather. Coffee specialities, homemade lemonade, Berlin bottled drinks and freshly squeezed juices are sold from a converted construction trailer. Especially recommended: the homemade lemonade.

The beer garden was opened in 2016 as a project by three high school graduates, Laurin, Arne and Anton, who renovated the then-neglected garden plot in the Volkspark and created a special place. Since the plot is not allowed to be built on, drinks and snacks are served from a construction trailer, adding to the student charm of this place.

Young and old meet here, and especially on balmy summer evenings, they populate the ample seating between their own plantings, making Laax an oasis within an oasis. Whether for coffee and cake, freshly tapped beer or cocktails, the Laax is a rewarding end to a walk in Volkspark Schöneberg.
