Kuno15
Kuno-Fischer-Straße 15
14057 Berlin-Charlottenburg
.How to get there
The Kuno 15 is downright dangerous for us. Why? It's right next to our office, and the ice cream is just too delicious. Two circumstances that have led us to the following thoughts lately: ice cream for lunch? No problem. Ice cream at closing time? Sure thing. Ice cream for breakfast? It's summer, isn't it?
The small café at the back and more idyllic corner of Kuno-Fischer-Straße really does have everything you could wish for in a small café. It is idyllically located at the corner of a street with little traffic. Cakes, croissants and other delicious pastries are baked on-site.
Just like the coffee from We Roast Coffee Collective, which Francis roasts fresh on site. The coffee is, of course, available here in the most refined versions and as Speciality Coffee - or the freshly roasted beans directly for the machine at home.
For Kuno 15, Francis has teamed up with Philippe and Paul, who are behind the ice cream factory Eis de Rix in Neukölln. Like the coffee, the ice cream is an actual passion project - you notice that at the first phenomenal lick.
Whether strawberry on a coconut milk base or tonka macadamia, the ice cream is wonderfully creamy, the sorbets are super refreshing (definitely try honeydew melon!), and they are all remarkably delicious. We especially recommend curd cheese with apricot and pine nuts: creative and so good!
All of this makes Kuno 15 a place where you can let your time pass by delightfully and idly. No wonder the café became a little neighbourhood secret even before the final renovation, so everything inside is still a little provisional. Soon everything should be ready, even with seats inside, and then it will look a bit more representative. But you can only rebuild when there are no guests, Philippe explains.
We don't mind at all: coffee and ice cream at Kuno 15 also taste great on the terrace or in the Lietzenseepark around the corner. No time to let it pass idly? Fortunately, ice cream on the hand is always an option. Believe us, we know what we're talking about!
