Irma La Douce
Potsdamer Straße 102

.How to get there
With Irma La Douce, there’s a new hotspot and high-flyer on Potsdamer Straße. The high-ceilinged room is adorned with stucco and, having previously been home to the Brasserie Lumières, has retained its brasserie style. And it’s also been beautifully done up. With the addition of an illuminated wine fridge, for example, which carries 50 glorious Champagnes as well as 300 European wines.
Starting the evening with rock oysters, smoked crème fraiche, and caviar, carefully arranged on a bed of pebbles, you’ll be swept off your feet in no time by the restaurant’s head chef Michael Schulz. The starters could potentially be the meal: a kind of soul food experience, with sex appeal, delivered at the highest standard.
Duck, very tender deer, or sole can follow, but don’t have to. Even if the sole is prepared with artichokes and tickles the taste buds with ras el hanout, bringing gingerbread to mind. The best way to end the wonderful evening is the same way that it started: with Champagne.
