Gorilla Bakery Transparent Bakehouse in the Schillerkiez

Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside - that's how we want home-baked bread from the bakery we trust. Anyone who is often out and about in Neukölln will therefore not be surprised that we are quite enthusiastic about the Gorilla Bakery on Hermannstraße. We learn that numerous restaurants and cafés in the surrounding area are also supplied with bread.

It's Monday morning and the bright, modernly designed store café is already bustling with activity. The specialty of the house is a wide variety of breads based on sourdough, which are displayed attractively on the wall shelf, in front of which is the counter display case that holds other delicacies for sweet tooths: Cheesecake, cardamom espresso tart or vegan chocolate cake? Oh, we'll just have a little bit of everything!

But you don't have to miss out on savory treats at Gorilla Bakery either, because in addition to regular croissants, there are also filled ones: either with chorizo or in the vegetarian version with walnuts, pear and gorgonzola - we tried the latter and were blown away! You can always look forward to new and unusual creations from the Pastry Chefs. And for those who like it a little less fussy, there are pizza slices available at any time.

While we're still waiting for our coffee-to-go, we naturally don't miss a look at the spacious, daylight-flooded bakery, which is separated from the sales area by a ceiling-high glass pane. It's a pity that it's raining today - we would have loved to sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle on Hermannstraße.
