Gil Avnon Cute Patisserie in Charlottenburg

Since Gil Avnon opened up his patisserie on Schlüterstraße 71 in October 2019, Charlottenburg has become many more cakes richer – by some of the best ones in town. Puristic, as if dreamed up by a graphic designer, the sweet treats of the far-travelled Wilmersdorfer are lined up in the enlightened glass display. It’s obvious that a perfectionist is at work here, although there’s a creativity that shines through the accuracy.

Every little bit is put together by Gil Avnon like a dessert, just as he was taught at his many previous workplaces around the world. Avnon loves patisserie classics, but delivers these in a new composition or swaps out ingredients to create something entirely his. Importantly, sugar is used sparingly.

Usually you’ll find up to 14 seasonally changing delights behind the glass display. In addition to wrapped up, homemade baked goods in miniature format: crisp cookies, juicy madeleines, and super soft brownie cubes. During Christmas, Gil Avnon is also stocked up on low-sugar roasted almonds and cashews, marzipan ‘Bethmännchen’, ‘Mailänder’ biscuits, and classic Stollen confectionary – let yourself be carried away!
