Fährhaus Caputh Feasting at Lake Templin

Albert Einstein already recognised the quiet beauty of Caputh in his time and had a summer house built here, not far from Potsdam. With the words "Come to Caputh, whistle at the world", Einstein once invited people to his tranquil wooden house. To this day, time seems to stand still here. Just like in the nearby Fährhaus Caputh.

Well over a hundred years old, it is still one of the most popular insider tips among the region's destinations, not least because of its down-to-earth cuisine and deliciously moist sheet cakes. In summer, the traditionally and lovingly prepared dishes can be enjoyed outside on the footbridge directly over the water and in the beer garden.

From fresh "Müllerinnen Art" trout and hearty fish stew to potato pancakes and beef roulade, the menu offers countless regional classics. In addition, there are plenty of desserts such as ice cream sundaes, yeast dumplings with blueberries or pancakes with apple sauce. However, if you love sheet cake, you'll love the Fährhaus anyway!

The view up Lake Templin or down the Caputh waters is a wonderful way to recover from a long walk through Caputh and the surrounding nature. However, while the ferry changes shores at regular intervals, it can happen that you order something again and again and the whole afternoon has flown by.
