.How to get there
Eat 91 on Postdamer Straße in Tiergarten is a beautifully-designed café-restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and indulgent cakes. The reliably excellent dishes are served by the Danish chef Mads Jansson, who once worked at the world-renowned Noma in Copenhagen.
On weekends, the all-day brunch is matched to a la carte breakfast delights and warm dishes from the changing menu. There’s also the permanent menu at Eat 91, which features classics that only ever change by season or in the finest details. Or try the daily lunch offer: a curry, chicken leg with mash or delicious spaghetti Bolognese.
But what makes all dishes really great is Mads Jansson’s special knack for bringing together components that are sour, salty and sweet, crispy and cold, all at once. Surprising details, like pomegranate seeds on a sandwich, or a special twist on a homemade spread, keep you coming back for more. Vegetarian and vegan alternatives are self-explanatory.
For breakfast alone, you’ll only be treated to the best ingredients: Italian fennel salami, divine cheeses and varying spreads. For years already, the bircher muesli has been crowned one of the very best in the city. But the carrot cake or the creamy cheesecake also top the list if you happen to stop by for a coffee.
