.How to get there
Upon entering Cuore di Vetro, Italian for 'heart of glass', the ice cream counter is the first thing you see, along with a big welcoming smile from owners, musicians and gelato aficionados Angelika and Guido. Ever since the opening, not a day has gone by without my craving some Gelato al Limon!
Cuore di Vetro, named after Werner Herzog's infamous movie, is a laboratory, fully equipped with a silver Carpigiani ice cream maker. You'll find a different kind of either gelato (dairy basis) or sorbetto (water basis) made from scratch daily.
Especially classics like stracciatella, dark chocolate, pistachio or hazelnut are second to none. Sorbets vary according to season and are just as good: strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, prune…
And even though summer's almost over, we await you with good news: there will still be ice cream. Seasonally appropriate, the flavors range from Marron Glacé (candied chestnut) to Tarocco Orange (Sicilian blood orange).
