Cicchetti da Rosa
Ludwigkirchplatz 12
10719 Berlin-Wilmersdorf
.How to get there
As we all know, you shouldn't change the tried and tested. And so Rosetta "Rosa" Panzera and Duc Anh Tran remain true to their tried-and-tested concept of Salumeria Rosa in their new restaurant Cicchetti da Rosa on Ludwigkirchplatz in Charlottenburg. Here, too, the menu combines traditional Italian cuisine with Asian accents.
Instead of rustic Italian dishes - as you'd find at any corner Italian - classics are given a modern twist here. In addition to some genuinely delicious pasta and meat dishes, the menu focuses on the eponymous cicchetti.
Cicchetti are small snacks served in the region around Venice. This Italian version of tapas gives its name to the Cicchetti di Rosa and is the centrepiece of the menu. Small but delicious creations that are perfect to share with friends and family.
Cicchetti da Rosa offers a careful selection of vegetarian, fish-based and meat-based cicchetti - all in the spirit of contemporary cuisine with the classic values of Italian cuisine.
For example, the menu features burrata with candied aubergine, mushroom cream and duxelles; tuna carpaccio with Amalfi lemon, radish, soy and truffle; prawns dressed with salsify and tomato jam; and vitello tonnato with tuna tataki and tuna cream.
Incidentally, Cicchetti da Rosa cooks mainly with regional and seasonal products from Berlin and Brandenburg. In addition to high-quality products, however, one thing above all is vital for the perfect Italian evening: the wine.
Of course, nothing is left to chance here either, as the wine list is exquisite and compiled by the former head sommelier of the Adlon.
In addition to the sustainable approach to Italian cooking, the Cicchetti da Rosa has learned one thing in particular from the Italians: warm hospitality.
Of course, the excellent food is essential, but the open, minimalist dining room also contributes to the relaxed atmosphere and invites you to linger, enjoy and chat.
Ludwigkirchplatz may not be in Sicily or Venice, but its old-Berlin charm and quiet, green location can easily keep up with its southern European counterparts.
So the delicious Italian cuisine with international influences from Salumeria Rosa has found a second home at Cicchetti da Rosa on Ludwigkirchplatz. We have a new favourite place - what more could you want?
