Café Pförtner Lunch inside a traditional public bus

Café Pförtner is located on the site of the former Berlin public transport factory premises, opposite to the Uferhallen in the Wedding district. Even the name is a reference to the location, as the Café Pförtner (eng. Café Gatekeeper) is located in the old Berlin public transportation gatekeeper's house. It is given additional charm by an old city bus that has been converted into a traditionally stylish lounge, where guests can be seated during their visit.

The two owners and trained chefs running the business are Christian and Daniel. In addition to their love of cooking, they told us about their shared joy of  relaxed get-togethers with friends and guests, a similarity which is clearly portrayed in the welcoming atmosphere at their café. In their quaint location, they serve their guests southern dishes at a fair price. A visit to the Café Pförtner in summer is especially advisable.
