Café Bravo in the courtyard of the Institute for Contemporary Art KW on Auguststraße in Mitte has to be one of the most beautiful museum cafés in the city. Rustic cobblestones and picturesque picket fences surrounding old trees create an atmosphere that is otherwise hard to find in the centre of Berlin. Anyone who is able to get a seat here during the summer months can count themselves lucky.

Small, puristic dishes, carefully prepared from seasonal ingredients are served at Café Bravo. There are home-baked cakes and a small selection of fine drinks. The calm and relaxed atmosphere creates space for the exciting building complex - in which the café is located – to truly shine. The iconic glass pavilion is based on an idea by the American artist Dan Graham and was realised in 1999 by architect Johanne Nalbach.

Two glass square cubes project into the courtyard like a mirage. Sometimes the pavilion appears transparent, sometimes like a mirror. Blending ingeniously with the classicist façade of the courtyard, which is reflecting in the greenish-silver shimmering glass of the pavilion, creating a constantly changing spectacle. - A real favourite place!
