BRLO Charlottenburg The brewery's gastropub

Founded in 2014 by two student friends and a master brewer, the Berlin brewery BRLO continued its success story at the end of last year. The award-winning brewery and restaurant opened a spacious, modern location with an excellent kitchen concept in Giesebrechtstraße in Charlottenburg.

The BRLO Charlottenburg can accommodate a total of 100 people, some of which can be separated to provide more intimacy. The interior impresses with a mix of concrete, roughly plastered walls and modern furniture. Under the ceiling, long fluorescent tubes wind around long beams and provide soft light.

In addition to the popular BRLO beers from twenty taps, there are also long drinks and creative cocktails to drink, sometimes even non-alcoholic. We were particularly impressed by the gastronomic concept, which is definitely unrivalled in Berlin.

The focus is on vegetarian dishes, but there are also outstanding meat side dishes. The vegetables, such as pointed cabbage from the caraway stock, carrots with vadouvan rub and BRLO Pale Ale glaze or beetroot in a salt crust with pomegranate, come from the rotisserie grill. Various side dishes and sauces can be ordered as desired.

Examples include Beluga lentils, great chips, roasted leek and classic brine egg. You can also choose from six different sauces. We found the Kikok chicken, which also comes out of the grill, to be outstanding. We didn't try it, but the dry-aged Mangalitza pork roll roast is also very popular.

In summer, the large outdoor terrace with a view of Meyerinckplatz is already eagerly waiting to be filled with guests. By then, at the latest, BRLO is likely to become one of the favourite culinary spots not only for Charlottenburgers. In any case, we were utterly impressed by the concept, not least because of the charming service team. The next table has, therefore, already been reserved. - Cheers!
