.How to get there
A 1965 built 60 x 60 m big cube, formerly used as a glass warehouse, has been home to one of the capital's most exciting exhibition spaces, Berlinische Galerie since 2004.
The industrial look was maintained throughout renovation and its functionality was made sure not to be compromised. An open dropped ceiling divides the space into two parts and allows for partial ceiling height of up to 10 meters. This way, large-scale installations can be shown on the first floor, classic rather small formats on the upper one.
Levitating stairs take visitors up to the second floor. The spatial concept works so well that it actually distracts attention from the art at times. My snapshots only capture a few angles of the big museum hall. The whole place is definitely worth a visit though, especially for fans of photography!
