Ammazza Che Pizza
Maybachufer 21
12047 Berlin-Neukölln
.How to get there
Here on Neukölln's Maybachufer, there is only little to remind one of a typical Italian restaurant. Once inside, bright colours and lots of mirrors dominate the interior. The pop-coloured furnishings, round shapes and ball lights are a tribute to the Milanese design collective Memphis.
The excellent Italian cuisine, on the other hand, can certainly be described as classic, since at Amazza che Pizza it is based primarily on high-quality ingredients and the ever-popular ideal of antipasti, pasta and pizza. The menu is complemented by salads and deep-fried delicacies such as arrancini or stuffed courgette flowers.
The pizzas are particularly modern in an authentic way. In Berlin, we are now spoilt by long-fermenting pizza dough. So it's no surprise to read here that the dough at Ammazza che Pizza is allowed to ferment for 48 to 72 hours, which makes the pizza more digestible later on. And delicious!
And so even the simple Margherita with DOP tomato sauce and Fior di Latte is a great treat. But also any variation, whether with chilli paste and smoked buffalo mozzarella or a Pizza Bianca with goat's cheese, honey and walnuts are real palate ticklers. You can also add your favourite ingredients or create your own pizza.
The delicious pizza dough is even used in desserts: Served in deep-fried form with Nutella; it sounds - and tastes - like a childhood dream. And even bambini will certainly have fun in the relaxed atmosphere at Ammazza che Pizza. It's not just the trendy interior, but also the friendly staff that bring a touch of Italian informality to the Landwehrkanal.
By the way, Amazza Che Pizza made it into our Top 10 Pizza list in Berlin.
